Nestled at the base of the foothills, The Table Mesa Neighborhood lies in between Boulder Mountain Parks, and the northern parts of Flatirons Vista and the Greenbelt Plateau.
Table Mesa is located just west of Broadway in South Boulder. The community is also home to a thriving commercial district. A local favorite, the Southern Sun brew pub serves up pints of local beer, while Table Mesa Shopping Center, one of Boulder's most popular destinations for locals in the area, offers a wide selection of regional and chain retailers including King Soopers. Don't miss: Under the Sun Eatery & Taphouse, South Side Walnut Cafe, Murphy's South, Tandoori Grill, Cafe Sole.
MY TAKE ON THIS NEIGHBORHOOD:
I'm still noticing many homes being rebuilt, updated, and improved as the neighborhood continues to trend towards owner-occupied homes, many of them with children. Speaking of children, I think while it is indeed a diverse neighborhood, Bear Creek and Mesa Elementary, Southern Hills Middle School, and Fairview High School are a draw for many parents.
If you want your kids to attend school in this area, it may be wise to live in Table Mesa. While Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) does have open enrollment; the word on the street is that the schools in Table Mesa neighborhood are maxing out their enrollment numbers.
HISTORY:
In 1962, The annexation of the 575-acre Table Mesa subdivision was approved by the City Council.
In 1964, Building permits worth $3.3 million were issued for 300 new dwellings in Table Mesa. First residents moved into area in May of 1963. Construction for Southern Hills Junior High School also began.
During the late 1970's and through the 1980's a large part of Table Mesa was known for it's burgeoning student population as many of the more modest homes were rented.
As property values increased through the 1990's and 2000's, many areas of Table Mesa which were once looking a bit run-down, began to see new life as homes were purchased by owner occupants, and many young people and families began to migrate back into Table Mesa.
WHAT’S NEW TODAY:
Table Mesa no longer includes a cache of entry-level priced homes. Buyers continue to be attracted to this part of Boulder, and are especially drawn to Devil's Thumb & the Rolling Hills areas.
LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Table Mesa is home to Hollow Platts Park and Viele Lake, Table Mesa is located at the base of Boulder's foothills, and offers beautiful views of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Table Mesa offers luxury Boulder homes, many of which feature large fireplaces, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and other luxury amenities.
