One of our favorite easy local hikes in the Boulder area was the Anne U. White Trail. It's set in a beautiful little canyon which crosses a small stream 28 times. At least that's the count based on one of our trips when my daughter, who's now 20, was about 9 years old.
Unfortunately the rains and flooding we had back in September of 2013 devastated the trail, and it's still closed. The trail had been scheduled for a potential opening in the fall of 2018. Then it was supposed to be summer of 2019, and now we're hearing that maybe it'll reopen in the fall.
Now that so many people have learned about the trail, it's mostly access issues (parking) etc that are in front of the delays. Most of the beautiful 1.6 mile shady hike is in pretty good shape. Here's to hoping parking and access is resolved soon!
