Parkdale Housing Project Erie Colorado

While the Erie Board of Trustees met on Tuesday to discuss plans for a large-scale housing development, a recent article shared some interesting data. It’s a pretty large plan to utilize over 200 acres right at the border of Erie and Lafayette. They’re looking at over 600 homes, and oil and gas wells are part of the plan. However, it’s been suggested that the wells will be drilled and done before houses go in.

As luck would have it, I have friends who moved into part of the area where the proposed development is planned. These friends are clients, and we met last night to discuss the impact of the changes proposed by OEO LLC.

Based on new information, several local land owners and homeowners have already made agreements or are in discussions with OEO to sell their real estate to make way for the development.

Most comments came up about the lack of parks and open space in the initial plans.

There are proposals to change roads including an alignment of County Line Road, and a new entrance to part of the development from Highway 7.

A recent media article said it was undetermined what the the plan was for a school, however in a brief conversation with local residents I learned that an OEO LLC representative suggested that there were already ideas about positioning an elementary or K-8 school site at the end of the dirt road near approximately 12000 Arapahoe, about 1/4 mile from an existing oil & gas well in operation. The proposed project is currently within the BVSD boundaries.
