That’s it… NedFest is gone for good. Twenty years ago the NedFest music event began.
Now, having outgrown the Barker Meadows Park, mostly due to community improvements, there’s no room for NedFest.
The town of Nederland decided to redevelop the area in Barker Meadows Park which includes new bathrooms, a bike pump rack, and a community greenhouse.
The Board of Trustees also decided that the ball field was no longer useful, which added to the trouble having the music festival continue. To complicate things further, Nederland began leasing the park to the Eldora Ski Area for overflow parking.
That wiped out the grass which made for a pretty miserable dry and dusty situation for NedFest.
Goodbye NedFest, you just weren’t useful or profitable anymore it seems.
