Longmont, Colorado was recently named as a top city for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) workers by Livability. Consequently we’re seeing more people both living and working in town.
The city of Longmont is one of the nation’s 10 best cities for STEM jobs and STEM workers. Also we see many local groups and schools supporting STEM education and awareness.
Livability.com is a site that shows rankings for cities based on various criteria including other topics such as best cities for college grads, best hot springs towns, and the most vegan friendly cites, etc.
Editors at Livability looked at over two thousand cities around the US to put together their top ten STEM cities.
Factors included total number of STEM jobs in the city, median income for STEM jobs.
STEM jobs in Longmont pay over twice what the average job in Longmont pays. As we see Boulder County change and grow people are choosing to live outside of Boulder proper. The “L” towns (Louisville, Lafayette, Lyons, and Longmont) continue to evolve and prosper at a fast pace.
Many here have commented that Louisville has become the ‘Boulder’ that Boulder once was, Lafayette is ‘on the verge’ and Longmont is soon to become the “New Louisville”.
