Apparently the Rocky Flats Wildlife Refuge (formerly the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Facility) is about to be running amok with prairie dogs.
The city of Broomfield is planning on relocating hundreds of the rodents.
Some people are concerned that the area where Broomfield want to place the rodents is highly radioactive. Recent soil tests indicate that the area is very highly contaminated.
Some say that they'll restrict the animals from moving into the more highly plutonium polluted areas. Good luck with that.
Makes me scratch my head about all the homes build up on the mesa where the plutonium contaminated land exists, and why people would ignore the risks that may be part of living there... not to mention the landfill right next to all these homes.
