Choose A Lender

Choosing a lender is an important decision. As your Boulder Realtor I suggest that you will want to choose a mortgage broker or loan officer immediately to confirm how much house you can afford and to discover any special circumstances that might pertain to your particular situation. This is the pre-qualification and there is no cost to my clients for this service. I suggest that you use a lender that comes highly recommended and has experience in the Boulder real estate market.

Following is a list of phone numbers for lenders I have worked with in the past. While I’ve continued to update this list, you’ll see that of the experts in the Boulder real estate market, I currently have very few names that have stood out in the local market for Boulder real estate. Boulder has many lenders but they’re not all equal.

Consider calling a trusted and experienced lending professional as the first step in getting started:

Nora Ziel, Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, Cherry Creek Mortgage : (303) 527-1175

Jed Marquis, Liberty Home Loans: (720) 890-8900

Carry Nash, Starkey Mortgage:  (303) 545-9600

Lou Barnes, Boulder West Financial: 303-443-9424

I understand how the Boulder real estate lenders work and am confident that they will be able to do what they say they can do if you see their name on my list. However, please remember that, even with the best possible lender the loan approval process can be frustrating given the volume of required documentation and necessary verification of all information. It doesn’t have to be and working with a full service professional can make this step in the process much more easy.

Also, it’s a good idea to know the status of your credit file. As your Boulder Realtor I want you to understand that according to the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, the information contained in credit reports is now the top source of consumer complaints. We recommend you review your credit file from time to time to ensure its accuracy. Here are the three largest credit reporting agencies.

The best way these days seems to be to go to www.annualcreditreport.com where you can check all three for free if you’re ready to get started with your Boulder real estate investment. You can also contact the credit agencies directly.
